Placing specific guidelines for the oversight and completion of his works at Boch Frères, he emphasized instructions for the model, pattern, colouring and composition of each piece.For the work above, the base is marked 'BOCH FRERES, La Louvière, made in Belgium' and numbered '39' 'D.1173’. All markings, stamps, incisions, and so forth attest to the object’s important provenance. From 1928, this beautiful vase of baluster form with depiction of polychrome stylized flowers on cracked white bottom was produced for Boch Frères in La Louvière. Standing at a height of 11” and a width of 5 1/4” this articulated enamelled artwork is magnificent in the light of any room.
